In the last decade of the 20th century, it was estimated that 1.33 million km2 of forest was lost. Worldmapper manipulates that map of the world that we are all used to, reflecting the subject of interest. In this case, the map shows where forests were lost from 1990-2000. It also makes those of us living in Europe appear as saints – don’t forget that’s because we cut down our forests decades, if not centuries ago.
