Expedition Update: Departure

With the advance party in the field last week, Sunday saw the rest of the team flying out to meet them.

Chris, Basecamp Manager sent us this brief report on Saturday.

On the 6th the Advanced Party left Salalah to move the locally purchased supplies to Al Hashman.

After leaving the supplies at the Al Hashman compound we moved into the desert part way to Basecamp before the end of daylight and then spent our first night “under the stars”!

At first light this morning we packed and continued the last few kilometers to Basecamp.  After a look around we departed heading back to Salalah to finish the remaining tasks before the main party arrives.  We arrived back in Salalah about 17:00.
