Trees for Life: Restoring the Caledonian Forest

I’m currently working on a project up in the Scottish Highlands together with the fantastic organisation Trees for Life. Their Dundreggan estate in Glen Moriston holds one of the largest populations of my study species anywhere in Scotland and is a rare glimpse in to what the ancient Caledonian forests once looked like; and might look like again in the future.

To date they’ve planted over a million trees, powered almost entirely by volunteers. If you haven’t come across them before, then take a moment to see what they do.
